What a paper chase. Since the new Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) came into being, under a massive administrative and structural shift that included the hiring of a small army, there has been a huge learning curve coupled with confusion. And not just for the staff. There was a time when community members actually knew who headed up band departments, could walk into the band office to chat with the Elected Chief or workers about their problems and get answers. Now, all of that has changed. The coziness of governance is gone replaced with bureaucratic roadblocks created by a system SNEC approved.
