Six Nations Wellbeing invited the community to join in canoe and kayak races at the first ever Six Nations Water Festival. Senior health promoter Nicole Bilodeau organized the event as a way to celebrate everything related to water. “We wanted to invite people from throughout the community to come and celebrate water,” she said. “We have lots of games for kids. We had a writing contest for kids as well to share about why water is important to them. We wanted to celebrate life on the water, doing paddle races for youth and for adults.
