OTTAWA-Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is meeting today with Assembly of First Nations National Chief RoseAnne Archibald. With COVID-19 today’s meeting is the first meeting since 2019 with the Prime Minister and AFN. National Chief Archibald says “a lot has happened, even though meetings haven’t been held on a regular basis a lot of good work has happened at the AFN and with Canada.” The meeting today ( Tuesday, Nov., 29, 2022) is about “charting the path forward in terms of the relationship we have with the Prime Minister’s office,” she said. While she did not detail what is on today’s agenda she did say the AFN’s MOU, a with the PMO is “a top item on the agenda. How do we move that and evolve that forward to continue
