Ontario’s Lieutenant Governor dropped by Six Nations this past week. She visited with the current Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) and then jumped in her limo and left. Normally such a visit would come with all the pomp and ceremony associated with such a visit. But that didn’t happen. Instead, once again, the meeting was not only closed to the public but the media weren’t invited to document the event. Instead a few photos appeared online. Sadly, the move has become a hallmark of the current elected council and its leader. And while Six Nations eEected Chief Sherri-Lyn Hill and her “advisers” are the focus of any concerns about closed meetings, it is her council that is allowing it.
