A civil lawsuit launched by the Métis National Council (MNC) accused the Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) and its president Chartrand, along with previous MNC president Chartier, and former MNC executive director Wenda Watteyne, of improperly funneling key assets from the national organization to the MMF.
