Six Nations seven elementary schools will be receiving a $1000 donation from the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC) in lieu of holding annual toy bingos. Toy bingos were the schools largest annual fundraiser raising as much as $10,000 a bingo in past years. Schools hosted the Toy Bingos at the Six Nations Bingo Hall, a community owned hall now managed by the SNGRDC. The funds were used to help with school student’s programming and activities. SNGRDC said Monday that “due to the impacts of COVID-19, Toy Bingo has not been able to operate since 2020.
