Aiden-James Einish from the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach in northern Quebec was one of 36 students in Canada selected to attend the Expo-Sciences International science fair in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.

Einish, 16, won the opportunity after receiving a bronze medal at the Canada Wide Science Fair in June. His project looked at how the traditional use of the Labrador Tea plant can reduce inflammation from arthritis.

Einish talked to CBC Indigenous about his experiences in the Middle East and what’s next.
