Brantford Mayor re-elected, Haldimand sees a new face

Mayors in communities surrounding Six Nations have seen both a return and an upset. In Brantford Kevin Davis held onto his job as mayor of Brantford. Davis saw a narrow win with 9,220 votes or 45.9 per cent of all ballots cast. Brantford city councillor Dave Wrobel was just 208 votes behind with 44.9 per cent. Davis is serving his second term as mayor after first being elected in 2018. He had served as an alderman from 1985 until 1991. In the 2018 municipal election, he upset incumbent mayor Chris Friel, securing 12,867 votes compared to Friel’s 7,200. Incumbent Mayor David Bailey has been re-elected winning 72% of the votes.
