Last week, the Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN) partnered with the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society (OWL) to release the rehabilitated birds back into the wild, marking a successful end to their challenging early lives. Rob Hope, OWL’s senior rehabilitator, shared that both birds were young and had to overcome significant hurdles before tasting freedom. The first eagle’s journey began with tragedy when its nest broke apart. “Unfortunately, a sibling died,” said Hope. “We saved the brother and he’s about four months old now, so he successfully rehabilitated.” The second bird was discovered right at Brunswick Point as it was just learning to fledge. “Unfortunately, he
