Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) wasn’t part of the First Nations Drinking Water court case or its $8 billion settlement, but they are still helping Six Nations community members apply for possible compensation. And that has Six Nations community members expressing “confusion” as they try to navigate contradictory information about “options” available to them to not only address unsafe drinking water locally, but whether they can even file a claim in the multi-billion dollar settlement.
