NPF Seeks Same Money For More RCMP

By Carol Baldwin  Local Journalism Initiative Reporter On Thursday  January 19th, Brian Sauve president of the National Police Federation, announced that the NPF had given a pre-budget submission to the province to spend $100 million over the next five years to “ensure the proper delivery of services” and fortify policing in the province. As with many other public services in our province, the RCMP members are consistently being told to do more with less. “Although Saskatchewan’s population has grown considerably over the past 15 years, the RCMP have remained underfunded across the province and our members are consistently being told to do more with less when they are already overworked, stressed, and not fully resourced,” Sauve said.   The NPF’s call for $100 million may seem like a huge ask,
