r By Kelly Geraldine Malone THE CANADIAN PRESS RoseAnne Archibald has called for an independent investigation into potential government interference into the Assembly of First Nations a week after she was ousted as national chief. “The AFN has become a tool for the government,” Archibald said during a Facebook Live video on Thursday evening. Archibald said she was in B.C. but when she couldn’t get a signal at her favourite park she drove to parking lot where she picked up a signal. Archibald was voted out during a special chiefs assembly that also dealt with a human resources investigation related to complaints AFN staff filed against her.
