Brant County Health Unit Issues Warning, Suspected Opioid related Overdoses on increase

BRANTFORD, ONT-The Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) is warning the public to use caution after an increase in suspected opioid related overdoses hits Brantford-Brant. The BCHU said from June 1- 13, 2023, there have been 16 overdoses/drug poisonings in Brantford-Brant, a higher number of overdoses than what is typical for the period of time. The BCHU says it has not been able to identify substances responsible and has asked the public to use caution with any type of drug that is not prescribed to you. They said anyone new to drug use is particularly at risk in use of drugs that may have unpredictable potency or contain unexpected and dangerous contaminants.
